BELLYROBICS!!!!!!!!! What is Bellyrobics? Bellyrobics is a new concept of aerobic group exercise which uses Belly Dance moves and movements for a vigorous safe workout. The aerobic workout uses routines which will get more challenging as the weeks progress, but which will also be able to be modified if you are a newcomer to the class. Bring a towel and plenty of water! This new genre of aerobic exercise is influenced by Belly Dancing, which is one of the oldest dance experiences in the world. It is all about isolation of muscles and parts of the body - used separately or together. You will learn to belly dance the easy way because of the wide range of steps and movements that you will be able to do in class, or modify for your own physical needs. Belly dancing is one of the best exercises for women of all ages, shapes, and abilities, as it is low impact, yet moves almost every muscle in the body - gently, but intensly. You will feel fantastic and confident and HAPPY, not sore, defeated, and questioning your ability to keep up with an aerobic-style class. This class will improve your posture, your flexibility, and your endurance and, most importantly, your confidence! No belly dance experience required. It’s wonderful fun - it's exotic and a departure from any other gym class you have ever taken. Coin hip belts are provided for everyone in class, so you can feel like a real belly dancer** right from the start! **Please note that this is a wonderful belly dance experience, but there is no such thing as an 8-week wonder, and if you are seriously interested in learning how to belly dance you must supplement this with traditional belly dance classes. I will personally throttle anyone who puts on a belly dance costume after taking only bellyrobics, and goes out to peddle herself as a professional belly dancer! (Sorry about that, but it's true!) |
